Rare original Swan chair designed by Arne Jacobsen and manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

For a limited period in the 1960s, a small number of Swan chairs were produced with wooden legs, rather than chrome swivel bases, and they are now very hard to find.

The chair has been newly upholstered in a high quality wool bouclé fabric in ice blue by Rose Uniacke. At the time this was done, a stencilled date 23 – 12 -1965 was found on the shell (see image), which is now hidden by the upholstery. The chair also bears a white paint stamp to the base for Fritz Hansen (see image).
