Rare original Swan chair designed by Arne Jacobsen and manufactured by Fritz Hansen in Copenhagen, Denmark.

For a limited period in the 1960s, a small number of Swan chairs were produced with wooden legs, rather than chrome swivel bases, and they are now very hard to find.

The chair is upholstered in a beautiful moss green tweed fabric which may be original. The laminated teak base and legs bear a white paint stamp to the base for Fritz Hansen (see image), indicating it is of very early production.
