An Akari light sculpture, model UF3-Q, designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1951, and manufactured by Ozeki & Co. in Gifu, Japan.
Comprising a coated metal folding tripod base, with removable washi paper shade, the six sides given structure by internal bamboo batons and decorated with black printed spheres.
This example believed to be an early 1980s production as the shade bears Isamu Noguchi’s signature, along with sun and moon logo.
Approximate dimensions: 147cm high, the legs 50cm diameter, the shade 62cm diameter
Condition good, no tears/holes to the shade apparent. Minor staining to one of the lower panels.
Easy to disassemble and reassemble for shipping purposes.
