Charlotte Perriand, Adjustable Dining/Coffee Table, designed for Les Arcs, 1970s

A rare adjustable dining / coffee table, designed by Perriand for use in the series of ski resorts she worked on in Les Arcs, France, during the 1960s-70s.

The rounded corners of the planked pine top were designed to prevent injury in the compact accommodation provided in the ski lodges. The black enamelled metal base has a hydraulic lever to the top which allows the table to be raised to dining height or lowered to coffee table as required.

The top measures 112cm wide by 65cm deep. When raised, the top of the table is 74cm high, when lowered 52cm high.

There is a bit of paint loss to the base in places otherwise the condition is very good, in line with age and use.
