An instantly recognisable design, this delightful spiky orange ‘pulcino’ is one of a series of five glass birds created by Alessandro Pianon and made by the Vistosi glassworks on the island of Murano, off Venice, Italy in the 1960s.

The bird has a textured blown orange glass body with applied murine eyes and stands on copper legs and feet, 23cm high

Condition very good, no damage or restoration apparent to the glass. In the photographs there are some white patches to the glass, but these are just reflections of the photographic lights. The copper legs and feet are very slightly bent so that the feet do not lie completely flat on the surface but this would not be hard to fix.
