Original 1960s Platner Lounge Chair, designed 1966 by Warren Platner and manufactured by Knoll International.

This iconic chair is made of moulded fibreglass covered in the original padded vibrant red upholstery, and supported in a cage of vertical nickel coated steel rods welded to horizontal and edge forming rods. The cushion is secured in place with velcro. Knoll International labels to chair seat and cushion.

Warren Platner (1919-2006) was an architect who worked on projects alongside Eero Saarinen, Raymond Loewy and I. M. Pei. However it was the collection of furniture he designed for Knoll International in the 1960s which earned him worldwide fame.

This chair is in good original condition, and structurally sound, but subject to slight wear in line with age and use, including some marks to the fabric.
